Seeing I found that wonderful reception venue at Club Rose Bay. I thought I would see what is around the club in terms of Chapels and great photo opportunities.

So here are some pics. I have the Naval Base Chapel, which looks Stunning on the outside not to mention the Inside.

I was dining out with a great friend of mine and discovered this wonderful venue. Situated on Sydney Harbour at Rose Bay the club has one of the best views I have seen in a long time.

So I thought I would ask at reception if there were any function facilities. They showed me the upstairs function room which has an even better view and can sit over 100 people.

They have great cost effective packages that they can tailor to suit your needs.

Been a little while between posts I know. But I have found this. Well actually my fellow October 17th Bride Ami put me onto this. It is how we are going to decorate our pews. You see we are getting married in the same Chapel and thought it might be a good idea, not to mention a time & money saver, to decorate together.

Sorry about the lack of posts of late. I have been busy doing a lot of

planning and running to get in shape for the big day.

I wanted to share with you all the shoes I just got.

On Ebay - and for the perfect price of only $49. I am going to paint them. Thinking blue - very SATC I know but I just loved those Manolo's.

Remember you can change anything, you just need to know how.

Keep an eye out for the finished product.

I will admit it. I am shoe obsessed. My mother used to call me Imelda. We would go shopping and I would say "Im going to the toys Mum" she would then come looking for me but I was never in the toy department. Where would I be In the shoe department trying on ladies shoes.

So for today's bride where do you start looking. I will admit I am finding this very hard. I cant find anything I like, in a suitable heel height. I cant be wearing stiletto's on the big day. Im lost. But here is a little inspiration for you all.

A fellow Bride from one of the many forums I visit was kind enough to share this with me.

Now the price. $147. All she did was supply the ribbon and the flowers. Again the possibilities are endless - I hear they also do it in brown chocolate. You will need to ask around but I am sure there is a store near you that could help.

Last weekend I was visiting a lovely decorator and we were throwing ideas around, dressing up a table to see what it looks like and all that jazz. While I was there she said one thing that has really stuck!

"You want everything about the reception to be romantic" " Dont be bold, use accents of colour, but overall keep it crisp"

Well I have been thinking and candle light is the perfect romantic piece of decoration I can think of with accents of whatever may take your fancy who can go wrong.

Here is just one of my many samples of tea lighting. Its cheap, easy and most of all if you have the tea light in some sort of glass ware that covers the flame - any venue will accept it.

A dear friend of mine, Linda and her Husband Danny were married on Hamilton Island.

It was a small affair, with family and a few close friends (Clare and Becky are the fabulous bridesmaids). From all the stories that I have heard they had the most wonderful time. Swim up bars, cocktail time not to mention the wedding itself.

So here are a few pics for all you brides that are thinking of having a destination wedding.

Just spotted this and thought I should share.

They are like massive cupcake papers. You could fill them with anything you like, well any petal you like.

Even use them for your favours - would tie in nicely with a cupcake wedding cake.

Talk about an easy way to add colour to your tables.

Depending on what is in season and your theme you could add any colour. All it is is a simple lolly bag (so cheap) filled with cherries. Having you wedding at a winery, you could use grapes!

You can also use them as something nice to give your guests while they are waiting - or even use them as directions to their tables, all you need is a neat hand and a marker pen.

Today something a little different. Here is a definite trend that I am noticing from the US. Not sure if it will catch on here but I really think it is a cheap and beautiful way of keeping your guests entertained (not to mention hydrated) on your big day.

You can have any colours, add alcohol, its even a nice alternative to your champagne on arrival - or that extra touch while your guests are waiting for you to arrive.

I really love the idea of a simple chalkboard to personalise things on your big day. Be it a simple 'Thanks for coming' or something romantic the beauty is that you can write anything you like. You could even use one as your seating arrangement list.
The best thing is they are cheap to make and you can reuse them in years to come.

As I am getting married in a beautiful little Chapel that looks out the ocean I am finding it it a little difficult to think about how I would like it decorated. Do I bother and let the view speak for itself or so I go nuts and do the whole flowers, everything kind of deal.

But I am a huge fan of bright colours.

I came across these chair covers the other day and I thought I should share them with all you fabulous brides.

In all my style searching I have noticed a definite trend. Though in planning my own wedding I am finding it difficult to find suppliers of such beautiful things. Who says we have to have the same old boring things that all the cover companies are offering. If anyone knows anyone please let me know I would love to get in contact with them all.

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend planned. I know if your anything like me it will be all about the wedding. I am starting to think I may not ahve enough weekends left to organise everything.

I was thinking yesterday how much I want my wedding to be different to others. Still traditional but not with all the usual things associated. As I have already posted I am planning something romantic, and special, but when it comes to the little bits and pieces I am finding inspiration from all around the globe.

I wanted to share these lovely little embroidered patches with you all. I think they are incredibly classy and can always become your little something blue. They would make a beautiful addition to the inside of your dress too.....

This is an idea that I have been tossing around for my own wedding.

Who says you have to choose a theme, why cant you just incorporate all your and your H2B's favorite things into the most special day of your life. I want it to be the most romantic stunning event I have ever been too.

We are having a beach theme (though not a beach wedding). I have chosen an Ivory dress, my BM's are going to be in an aqua/blue satin, a sea life inspired cake, our favors a little tea light holders with handpicked shells in them, we want to do a wire along a wall with lots of shots of the family and friends hung by pegs, a surfboard guest book, but at the same time I am totally in love with tortured willow (not very beachy), and fairy lights. I want loads of tea lights everywhere.

For flowers I want bright, fuchsia, orange, blues, ivory and pinks. I am totally afraid that this is not going to work. I just hope that it all comes together.

The dress

Its the most important dress that you will ever wear. One beautiful dress for the most special day of your life. How do you choose. For me that choice was one of the hardest decisions I ever made. I think it was harder than saying yes when H2B proposed.

I thought that today to help those Brides that dont want something traditional I would do a little inspiration board of dresses that are a little different.

I just love the pink dress. It is beautiful, feminine, not too girly and totally classy.

I cant show you all of my dress but there is a little sneak peak of it there.......

So I got home yesterday from my meeting with my (hopefully) new decorator. I was really excited about all the ideas that we both came up with. So I start telling my Darling H2B all about it only to be met with a " Decorator, this is the first I have heard about this?" "How much is that going to cost?".......

How do we deal with this, do we lie, bend the truth, or tell him that this is just how it is supposed to be?

Tomorrow I am having a Venue inspection with my decorator (well my maybe decorator - depending on how cheap her quote come's in at). And yes honestly I am a little excited.

I have all these ideas about how I want everything done on the big day, how I want it too look, the whole beach inspired theme that I desperatley want to make work.

This has got me thinking though. What if I dont like what she comes up with. What if she has some strange idea that I want to spend thousands on this little project that we call "The Wedding", what if she annoys me and I decide that I cant work with her???
